The Ammonitida is an order of more highly evolved ammonoid cephalopods from the Jurassic and Cretaceous time periods, commonly with intricate ammonitic sutures. The Ammonitida are divided into four suborders, the Phylloceratina, Lytoceratina, Ancyloceratina, and Ammonitina.
