Bassmint Productions was a hybrid of members of two separate hip-hop groups that existed simultaneously, each including one of two twin brothers: * Hype-n-Effect, fronted by producer/emcee Manix (Michael Ruby) and DJ Stezo (Steve Mackiewicz), * New Jacks, fronted by emcee Double M (Marshall Bruce Mathers lll) and DJ Butter Fingers (Mathew Ruby). *(There is a DJ Butter from Detroit, That is Barry Yett II) Both groups only lasted from 1988 to 1989.
