Birgitte Sofie Gabel

Birgitte Sofie Gabel (1746–1769) was a Danish noble. She was the daughter of Baron Verner Rosenkrantz and Else Margrete Sehested and married the courtier and noble Kristian Karl Gabel in 1762. She was known for her beauty and admired for her great intelligence and intellectual ability. The contemporary memoir writer count Rantzau-Ascheberg described her as a woman who's education and great scholarly knowledge could be compared to that of most men. She was given the Ordre de l'Union Parfaite in 1764. She died in childbirth later the same year.
