Charter for the Environment

The Charter for the Environment (French: Charte de l'environnement) is a document of 2004 that has constitutional value in France since 2005 (part of the "constitutional block"). It is a short document comprising ten articles, including a formulation of the prevention principle, of the precautionary principle (article 5) and of the polluter pays principle (article 4).
