Fort Hood Three

The Fort Hood Three were three soldiers of the US Army – Private First Class James Johnson, Private David Samas, and Private Dennis Mora – who refused to be deployed to Vietnam in 1966. They were stationed together at Fort Hood, Texas, in the 142nd Signal Company, 2nd Armored Division. Upon finding out they were to be sent to Vietnam, they prepared a joint statement which they intended to deliver during a press conference in New York. However, Mora had to deliver the statement alone after the other two were arrested.
