Kaufman, adapted by Everett Freeman, and was directed by William Keighley. The film also starred Hattie McDaniel, the first black woman to ever win an Academy Award. Warner Archives released the film on DVD in November 2013. Joyce Reynolds is the last surviving primary cast member. George Washington Slept Here was in the John Wayne film Operation Pacific (1951) when two American submarines traded films at sea.
