Granny Grace
The Granny Grace Mysteries, from author Patricia C. Hughes, is a series of comical mystery short stories published in Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine in the late 1990s. They followed the ghostly capers of Dallas McGee, a young corporate secretary from Houston, who becomes haunted by her Great-Granny Grace—a ghost who appears to her as a young and flamboyant 1920s flapper. Grace died just as Dallas' sister Savannah was supposed to marry into the powerful St. James family—and she refuses to "cross over" until Dallas investigates a long series of St. James murders dating back to the 1920s.
