Macquarie Generation

Macquarie Generation is an electricity generation company in Australia that was owned by the Government of New South Wales, and has a portfolio of generating sites using predominantly thermal coal power. From its two thermal coal power stations and two oil-fired gas turbines, Macquarie Generation supplies approximately 11% of the electricity consumed in the National Electricity Market. In early stages, Macquarie has commenced development of solar thermal power as a renewable source of energy, In 2014 AGL Energy acquired Macquarie Generation for $1,505 million from the NSW Government
