Minister of Defence of the Czech Republic
The Minister of Defence of the Czech Republic (Czech: Ministr obrany České republiky) is the leader of the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic and member of the Government of the Czech Republic, Cabinet and the National Security Council. The Minister of Defence's power over the Military of the Czech Republic is second only to that of the President. The Minister of Defence is appointed by the Prime Minister. The current and 16th Minister of Defence is Martin Stropnický, serving since 29 January 2014.
