Mundair Kalan

Mundair Kalan, commonly known as Mundair Sharif Syedan (Urdu: منڈیر شریف سیّداں) is a village situated near Sahowala, between Ugoki and Sambrial in the Sialkot District of the Punjab province of Pakistan. It is situated between two canals. The name refers to the Mundair, one of the castes in Hinduism. The word Syedan, used in the local variant of the official name, refers to the Syed respectable family name in Islam. This was because the Syeds migrated here and purchased the land from Hindus and Sikhs. Today the majority of the population of the village is made up by Syeds. The two other neighbouring villages are named Mundair Khurd (منڈیر خُرد) and Mundair Kothey (منڈیر کوٹھے).
