A Grade III event open to three-year-old horses, it is contested on turf over a current distance of 1 1⁄16 miles (2015). Run in mid-March, the Palm Beach Stakes currently offers a purse of $150,000. 2010 winner Paddy O'Prado went on to finish third in the Kentucky Derby, sixth in the Preakness, first in the Secretariat, and sixth in the Breeders' Cup Classic in his three-year-old season. He finished his career with $1.7 million in earnings.
