Sacramento National Forest
Sacramento National Forest was established by the U.S. Forest Service in New Mexico on April 24, 1907 with 881,841 acres (3,568.68 km2). On July 1, 1908 the entire forest was combined with Guadalupe National Forest to create Alamo National Forest. The lands are presently part of the Sacramento District of Lincoln National Forest. The district comprises the southern Sacramento Mountains to the east of Alamogordo.
