As chairman of the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, Steven Michael Hilton is the philanthropic successor to his father, Barron Hilton, and his late grandfather who founded Hilton Hotels Corporation and the humanitarian charity that bears his name. In his 30 years as an executive with the foundation, including 17 years as its president, Hilton has dramatically increased the capacity of the organization. At the same time, he focused the foundation's efforts on 11 specific program areas. During his tenure, annual grants have grown from a total of $6 million to $100 million a year, providing more than $1.4 billion to nonprofit organizations working to improve the lives of disadvantaged and vulnerable people throughout the world.
