It is the directorial debut of Judd Apatow, who directed successful films, such as Knocked Up, Funny People, This is 40 and Trainwreck, and Seth Rogen's first role in a comedy film, since his cameo role in the 2004 film Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy.
