It was released on 29 November 2010 in the United Kingdom by Asylum Records, and Atlantic Records in the United States. The album's lead single, "Drummer Boy", was released on 5 September 2010. The album's second single, "Radio", was released on 28 November 2010. The album was originally planned to be named Unleashed, however the plans were scrapped and The Entertainer was decided upon instead.
