Traditional trekking path to Sabarimala

The traditional trekking path (Malayalam:പരമ്പരാഗത തീർത്ഥാടന പാത) to Sabarimala is one among the important trek routes to Sannidhanam, the adobe of Lord Ayyappa. It covers a distance of about 35 km through the mountainous terrains and thick forests which are inhabited by many wild animals. Its believed that Ayyappa used this path in his expedition to kill Mahishi, a demoness. Still many pilgrims heading towards Sabarimala depends upon this route.
