"Viel zu weit" ("Much too far") was the German entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 1993, performed in German by Münchener Freiheit. Münchener Freiheit had their breakthrough in Germany and neighbouring countries with the singles "Ohne dich (schlaf' ich heut' nacht nicht ein)" and "Tausendmal du" in 1986 and went on to have a series of Top 20 hits. Internationally they are best known for their 1988 recording "Keeping the Dream Alive" with the London Symphony Orchestra, a #14 hit in the UK in December of that year. The band released three English language albums, Romancing in the Dark, Fantasy and Love is No Science - then under the group moniker Freiheit.
