Wayoata Elementary School is an elementary school that is part of the River East Transcona School Division in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It and its twin school, École Regent Park School, were officially opened in the same week in February 1960, although some classes had been in session in both schools since December 1959. Terry Fox attended grades 2 and 3 at Wayoata, and appears in a class picture dated 1965-66. A photograph of Fox, taken near the end of his grueling run near Thunder Bay, Ontario, is displayed prominently in the entrance hall.
