Youtokugakusha

Youtoku (養徳; ようとく lit. cultivate virtue) Gakusha (学舎; がくしゃ lit. dormitory) is a student dormitory located in Tokyo, owned by Nara Prefectural Scholarship Foundation. It was first initiated in 1902 at Minobu (三宣; みのぶ) House in Ueno, Tokyo by supporters from Nara Prefecture. After one and a half decades, through the efforts of those predecessors, in 1917 the first building was founded at Bunkyō, Tokyo. A total of 1,400 students have graduated so far.
