Zavodske Airfield

Zavodske Airport (Ukrainian: Аеропорт "Заводське"; Russian: Аэропорт "Заводское") (ICAO: UKFW) is situated at a distance of 5 kilometres (2.7 NM) southwest of Simferopol, the capital city of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea in Russia/Ukraine. It was built in 1914 as part of an aircraft factory “Anatra”. It is "D" class unpaved airdrome. It operates during the daylight hours. During times of the Soviet Union, an airline club and a school of civil pilots was established there. Many graduates became Heroes of the Soviet Union.
