1140 Crimea

1140 Crimea, provisionally designated 1929 YC, is a stony main-belt asteroid, approximately 28 kilometers in diameter. It was discovered by Grigory Neujmin at the Crimean Simeiz Observatory on December 30, 1929. The S-type asteroid with a high geometric albedo of 0.18 completes one rotation every 9.8 hours and revolves around the Sun once every 4.61 years. It is named after the Crimean Peninsula on the northern coast of the Black Sea, where the discovering observatory is located.
