The 1999 Atlanta Falcons season was the franchise's 34th in the National Football League (NFL). The Falcons were unable to match their previous season's output of 14–2, failed to reach the playoffs and therefore would not be the first team to host and play in the Super Bowl. The season saw star running back Jamal Anderson hurt his knee in Week 2 and was later placed on IR, ending his season. The injury that Anderson suffered was career-threatening.
