5th National Film Awards
The 5th National Film Awards, then known as State Awards for Films, presented by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, India to felicitate the best of Indian Cinema released in the year 1957. Ceremony took place at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on 16 April 1958 and awards were given by then President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad. Starting with 5th National Film Awards, monetary award was also included as a part of award along with the medal/certificate which was different for producer and director of a film/documentary.
