Agüera (Belmonte)

Agüera is one of 15 parishes (administrative divisions) in Belmonte de Miranda, a municipality within the province and autonomous community of Asturias, in northern Spain. Its name comes from the Asturian word "agüeru", which means a pool or irrigation channel. This name is also applied to the valley, where several streams converge. The T-shaped parish church is from the 18th century, and is dedicated to San Andrés. The parish's main festival is the feast of San Fructuoso, in July.
