Alas Uruguay

Alas Uruguay is an airline in Uruguay. It was founded by former employees of PLUNA, which closed in 2012, as a public company most of its life, or mixed economy in recent years, although Alas Uruguay was started as a private company. Its bases are Carrasco International Airport in Montevideo and Capitán de Corbeta Carlos A. Curbelo International Airport in Punta del Este. The new company of former PLUNA workers adopted the name Alas-U, but in October 2013 renamed it to Alas Uruguay. It commenced operations the 21st of January, 2016 using Boeing 737 aircraft.
