Arabian cobra

The Arabian cobra (Naja arabica) is a species of cobra in the genus Naja found in the Arabian Peninsula. The Arabian cobra ranges from western and southern Saudi Arabia, Yemen, and Oman. The specific arabica is Latin for Arabic. This species had long been considered a subspecies of the Egyptian cobra (Naja haje), but morphological and genetic differences have led to its recognition as a separate species. It is an elusive species and rarely seen in the wild.
