Aviadvigatel PD-14

The PD-14 (earlier PS-14) is a next generation turbofan engine being developed by Aviadvigatel to become one of the alternative power plants for the Irkut MC-21 twin-jet airliner. The PD-14 was announced in early 2010 with its development cost estimated at RUB 35 billion (US$1.1 billion). The company expects to start the certification procedure for the PD-14 in 2012. The PD-14 turbofan family is planned to be expanded with the geared turbofan PD-18R, with a thrust of 18,000 to 20,000 kg. Applications are expected in heavy passenger and transport aircraft, such as the Ilyushin Il-96.
