Blyth's kingfisher

The Blyth's kingfisher (Alcedo hercules) is a kingfisher distributed in Bangladesh, India, China, Bhutan, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam. It is found along streams in evergreen forest and adjacent open country from 200–1,200 metres (660–3,940 ft), mainly at 400–1,000 metres (1,300–3,300 ft). The common name commemorates Edward Blyth (1810–1873), English zoologist and Curator of the Museum of the Asiatic Society of Bengal.
