The Broome County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) is the primary law enforcement agency for unincorporated areas of Broome County, New York, New York, United States.As a constitutional officer the Sheriff is the chief law enforcement officer within his County. While operating primarily in the unincorporated areas of the County, the Sheriff's Office does have jurisdiction within the City of Binghamton and various incorporated towns and villages. The current sheriff is David E. Harder. Sheriff Harder joined the Sheriff's Office in 1961 as a Deputy Sheriff.
