Doubles (food)

Doubles is a common street food in Trinidad and Tobago. It is a sandwich made with two baras (flat fried bread) filled with curry channa (curried chick peas). Topped with either mango (aam), shadon beni (bandaniya), cucumber (kheera), coconut (naariyal), tomato (damadol), or tamarind (imalee) chutney, or extra pepper sauce. This delicacy is the most popular fast food in Trinidad and Tobago. Doubles are eaten for breakfast, sometimes for lunch, often at night but can be a late night snack, too.
