European Parliament election, 2019 (United Kingdom)

European Parliament elections are currently due to be held in the United Kingdom and Gibraltar in 2019 as part of the 2019 European Parliamentary Elections. In June 2016 a referendum on United Kingdom membership of the European Union resulted in a vote favour of the United Kingdom leaving the European Union. In October 2016 the new Prime Minister Theresa May announced that she would trigger article 50 by March 2017, As a country takes two years to leave the EU after triggering article 50, this means that the UK would in most likeliness no longer be a member of the European Union before the planned elections in 2019.
