George Cowdrey House

The George Cowdrey House is a historic house at 42 High Street in Stoneham, Massachusetts. The c. 1865 house is one a few well preserved Second Empire residence in Stoneham. It was built for George Cowdrey, a Stoneham native (for whom Cowdrey Street is named), shoe manufacturer, and state legislator. It is a modest two-story building with a mansard roof and a porch that wraps around to the left side, with a gazebo section at the corner. The mansard roof doormers are topped by segmented arches and have scrollwork framing around their windows.
