Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is an upcoming television series on the streaming service Netflix. It is a continuation of Gilmore Girls, an American comedy-drama television series created by Amy Sherman-Palladino starring Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel. Sherman-Palladino, her husband, Daniel Palladino (seasons 1-6), David S. Rosenthal (season seven), and Gavin Polone served as the executive producers. The series debuted on October 5, 2000 on The WB and remained a tent-pole to the network until it came with the network as it merged with UPN to form The CW, with the last season premiering on September 26, 2006. The series originally ran for seven seasons (the last without the Sherman-Palladinos involved), and ended its run on May 15, 2007.
