Hamadan County

Hamedan County (Persian: شهرستان همدان‎‎) is a county in Hamedan Province in Iran. The capital of the county is Hamedan. At the 2006 census, the county's population (excluding those portions later split off to form Famenin County) was 626,183, in 165,753 families; excluding those portions, the population was 585,642, in 155,825 families. The county is subdivided into two districts: the Central District and Shara District. The county has four cities: Hamedan, Qahavand, Maryanaj, and Juraqan.
