However, he did not state what source or criterion he was referencing when making this statement. The song was, however, his only gold record in the U.S. besides his comeback hit in 1989, "Poison."The song was written about his drinking problem, which would in one year send the performer into rehab. Cooper called the song "an alcoholic confession".
