Jacob Groshek (born December 19, 1977) is an Assistant Professor at Boston University Division of Emerging Media Studies. Groshek has written extensively about how new media technologies may contribute to political change and social movements, and appears regularly in media coverage of social media trends and impacts. He has been interviewed by Cyrus Farivar on Deutsche Welle Radio where he stated that "we also need to keep in mind that it's not just the technology, as important as the technology is -- and as important as it is for us to safeguard those freedoms of those online spaces -- we also need to understand that it's what people have to say in those spaces and it's also what contributions they make."
