Kai Tak Stadium is a multi-purpose sports stadium to be built at the site of Kai Tak Airport, Kowloon, Hong Kong. The exact location according to renders is on the north western part of the property, where some of the parking stands used to be. Chinese newspapers in Hong Kong reports that the stadium will be completed in 2018 or 2019, costing HK$19 billion (US$2.44 billion) and will have a 40-50,000 capacity. HK$62.7 million in pre-construction funds for the Kai Tak Multi-purpose Sports Complex was approved by the Legislative Council Finance Committee members on 3 July 2015.
