National Strategic Computing Initiative

The National Strategic Computing Initiative (NSCI) is a United States initiative calling for the accelerated development of technologies for exascale (1000 petaflop) supercomputers, which are about 100 times faster than the fastest systems in 2015, and funding research into post-semiconductor computing. Ten United States government departments and independent agencies are involved in the initiative, which was announced in July 2015.
