Pirates Basketball Club

The Pirates Basketball Club is a social basketball club currently playing in the CMG Competition in Canberra. Founded in 2007 after acquiring a vacant CMG licence from the defunct Gorrilaz Basketball Club, the Pirates have developed a cult-like following both locally and overseas, representing innovation, good humour and good sportsmanship.Despite consistently making the play-offs, they have only ever made one grand-final appearance and have yet to win the CMG Cup, being narrowly defeated for the title back in 2008 against the Vikings.
