Primera División de México (Mexican First Division) Invierno 2001 is a Mexican football tournament - one of two short tournaments that take up the entire year to determine the champion(s) of Mexican football. It began on Saturday, July 21, 2001, and ran until November 25, when the regular season ended. La Piedad was promoted to the Primera División de México, allowing 19 teams to take part in the Mexican First Division as opposed to 18 teams that formed the previous tournaments. In the final Pachuca defeated UANL and became champions for the 2nd time.
