Richard Zemel, better known by Rich Zemel, is a computer scientist and professor at University of Toronto, Department of Computer Science, and a leading figure in the field of Machine Learning and Computer Vision. Zemel obtained his Ph.D under Geoffrey Hinton from University of Toronto, Department of Computer Science. In both his lecturing and publications, he makes frequent use of the adjective 'rich', presumably as a humorous reference to his name.
