Rosha (subcaste)

This caste is found in both Hindus and Sikhs of Northern India. Roshas are haihai vanashi Kashtriyas. The term kshatriya comes from kshatra and implies temporal authority and power which was based less on being a successful leader in battle and more on the tangible power of laying claim to sovereignty over a territory, and symbolizing ownership over clan lands. Roshas came in close proximity to Nawab Jassa Singh during middle of 18th century and thereafter proudly started to be associated with Nawab Jassa Singh & Ahluwalia community. Nawab Jassa Singh participated in many battles as well where he proved himself to be a natural leader. Many like minded clans and communities consisting of kshatriya,Khatris, kalals, jatts etc. joined Nawab Jassa Singh and gave a befitting reply to Afghan Empi
