Sanskrit drama
Earliest references to Sanskrit drama are found in the works of Panini from 5th century BCE where he mentions Natasutras by Silalin and Krsavas. The fragments of Sanskrit drama date from the 1st century CE. The Mahābhāṣya by Patañjali contains the earliest reference to what may have been the seeds of Sanskrit drama. This treatise on grammar from 2nd Century BC provides a feasible date e beginnings of theatre in India.
