Fruit is pear-shaped, up to 6 centimetres (2.4 in) long. Habitat is deciduous woodland. S. trichoclada is found in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Tanzania, Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.
