Songs of Love and Hate (Godflesh album)

Songs of Love and Hate is industrial metal band Godflesh's fourth album. It was released on 20 August 1996, on Earache Records. This album shows a slight change in Godflesh's sound through the incorporation of EBM rhythms with the band's trademark guitar riffs. This is the first Godflesh release to include full lyrics, as well as a studio drummer, Bryan Mantia, which gave the album a more "traditional heavy metal" sound, with Allmusic observing that "never before has the group rocked so hard, sounding tighter as a unit and more human than ever before".
