Tacoma Weekly

Tacoma Weekly is a weekly community newspaper published by Pierce County Community Newspaper Group (PCCNG). The paper started in 1987 as the Tacoma Monthly and in 1994 became the Tacoma Weekly. The newspaper has always been a free publication. It is distributed on Thursdays inside hundreds of businesses and public spaces in the Tacoma area. The paper underwent a major redesign in the summer of 2001. They switched from a tabloid format to a broadsheet format. This gave them considerable more space, allowing them to split the paper into two sections. As of April 2008, the paper consists of four sections: News, Sports, City Scene, and Classifieds.
