The Hectics

The Hectics (1958–1962) were Freddie Mercury's (then known as Farrokh Bulsara) first music band; the other members of the band were Derrick Branche, Bruce Murray, Farang Irani and Victory Rana. The school-band was formed while all five were students at St. Peter's Boys School, an English boarding school in Panchgani, near Bombay (now Mumbai), India. The band only played at school events and were not allowed to venture outside for bookings. Bruce Murray currently runs The Music Centre in Bedford, England. His step-son Guy Griffin plays with British rock Band The Quireboys.
