Wasco, Illinois

Wasco is an unincorporated suburb of Chicago in Kane County, Illinois, United States. It has a post office (60183), a few restaurants, and an elementary school sharing its namesake "Wasco Elementary School". Wasco is located along Illinois Route 64 approximately 4 miles west of St. Charles and is partly contained within the village of Campton Hills. The area outside the downtown section is mostly residential homes, spanning several blocks. Although it has a large population (estimated to be over 5,000), Wasco has never been incorporated as its own entity. Only two other Chicago suburbs are like this. Medinah and La Grange Highlands, both have populations well over 1,000, and have still remained unincorporated.
