The 1987 Hungarian Grand Prix was a Formula One motor race held at the Hungaroring on August 9, 1987. It was the ninth round of the 1987 Formula One season. It was the third Hungarian Grand Prix and the second since its 1986 revival at the Hungaroring. The race was held over 76 laps of the four kilometre circuit for a race distance of 305 kilometres. The win allowed Piquet to expand his championship points lead to seven over Senna and 18 over Mansell.
