2014 Wimbledon Championships – Men's Singles

Andy Murray was the defending champion, but he lost to Grigor Dimitrov in the quarterfinals. Novak Djokovic won the final, defeating Roger Federer in five sets to claim his second Wimbledon title, and his seventh grand slam title. It was also his first win at a major since the 2013 Australian Open. Although Nadal was world number one entering the tournament, the Spaniard was seeded second behind Novak Djokovic due to his recent poor performances on grass. After claiming the title, Djokovic replaced Nadal as the World No.1, holding the top position for the first time since October 2013.
